About the “Autism-to-Work” Program
For the past two years, we’ve proudly participated in Cannae’s Human Resource Solutions’ “Autism-to-Work Program,” which is designed to integrate young adults with high-functioning autism into the workforce, break down barriers to autistic individuals, and increase neurodiversity in the workplace.
This program is a volunteer effort offered at no cost to either the corporate partners or the employees it aims to benefit. It represents a commitment to inclusivity and diversity in the workforce, which Sturgeon strongly supports.
Sturgeon has been a part of a pilot program that has already shown significant success. Sturgeon is proud to be at the forefront of an inclusive employment movement.
We’re excited to tell you all more about the program’s benefits!
Why You Should Participate in the Program
Sturgeon sees this initiative as a way to tap into a hidden pool of talent. Neurodiverse individuals have proven to be able to successfully fill challenging roles and offer a competitive edge in today’s world.
The program has identified that jobs best suited for participants are process-driven with discrete steps. For example, roles in the pilot program at Sturgeon include laptop testing and breakdown, while at Cannae, roles include resume screening and document compliance audits for clients. Other roles that may be suitable include data entry, routinized Q/A testing, and handling inbound sales calls/texts.
The ideal employer for this program is sensitive, flexible, and willing to work with individuals to ensure they thrive in the workplace. This includes providing modest accommodations such as allowing headphones and brief periodic breaks and offering a quiet work environment,
This program is more than just an employment opportunity; it’s a chance for empowerment and breaking down barriers. Sturgeon and Cannae invite more corporations to participate in this transformative program, which not only enriches the lives of its participants but also enhances the diversity and innovation within the broader corporate community.
Sturgeon remains dedicated to this cause, championing the incredible benefits of neurodiversity in the workplace and looking forward to expanding the program with more corporate partners.
